It is spring, and true to form I am in full-on house mode. The starting place was/is the bedroom and I'm all about adding in more plants, more crochet & more wood & more lace. Sort of "Stevie Nick-ifying" the room. Above are some inspiration photos for some pretty dreamy bedrooms...

Home Crush
I'm already married, but lo if I were not I'd be shoppin' for a guy who had a house *just like* this. Somehow he makes minimalism so friendly and there is even spaces that are cozy unlike so many minimalist interiors that lack a nice curling up spot. I also love his manly garage where he works on motorcycles (hotness!). But seriously, what really takes the cake is this dude has my favorite breed of kitty cat, an uber cute Abyssinian - bedorable! More photos of this great living space HERE.

Pink peeks
I love the judicious use of pale pink in Hilary Robertson's Brooklyn brownstone. I'm pretty much in love with the entire space in general, the bones of building being stuff dreams are made of.
Robertson, an interior stylist (duh) has also recently opened a shop in Brooklyn called Mrs. Robertson.

an artist at home
She did a guest blog post for me long ago on her penchant for stacking up multiple rings on one finger and you can also check out a jewelry box tour she did with Jean Jean Vintage here. Amy has the coolest taste in jewelry and we are forever making trades - our style is so similar sometimes I wonder if we aren't long lost sisters, sometimes it sure seems like it.
Amy recently got in touch with the former owner's (& builder's) family and got some original photos, from Amy:
"Here is a recent project I secretly undertook as a gift for my husband for our anniversary. It is the origin story of our mid-century home as told through correspondance among me and the daughters, granddaughters and a family friend of the original owners. There are also images from the house as we live in it today among our plants and with our four cats.

Wary Meyers home
I'm pretty sure I have blogged about this Wary Meyers house before, but maybe not, I don't know - the long and short of it is that this house is super cool! I want to read & then nap in that bedroom! I think it's my favorite of all the rooms in the house. I have a hard time putting a lot of color in my own house (or anywhere for that matter) so I doubt I could actually live in these spaces, but they are just so full of joy aren't they? Posting it now seemed befitting considering the SHOP is super bright right now as well.

You're invited...
...in my house! I know I have posted photos of my house before, but things have since changed (don't they always?). Basically, all last week & weekend I got the house bug, big time. I was myopic in my all-out obsession with all things house related, so much so that I barely worked at my shop or dealt with clothing at all. It needed to happen though, that one-sightedness often takes focus only on Dear Golden and everything else seems to fall by the wayside. It felt really great to step away from the shop and futz with the house, it's very decompressing, there's something oddly soothing about moving one piece of pottery around the house 5 times before picking *the right* spot. I weeded out so many things I had been hanging on to (including pieces of furniture I wasn't all that keen on) and finally found the midcentury wall unit (for an insane steal of $250) I have been searching for for what seems like an age. Although there isn't a wall available in the house where I can erect all three sections of it, I know where ever I live next will have one! So I separated the pieces and used 2 of them on opposite sides of the dining room where they work perfectly, yay! The couch is also a new addition, an estate sale purchase and I just love how it only has one arm.
